Senior Transition Workers – Broken Hill The Community Restorative Centre (CRC) is a community based agency providing assistance to people affected by the criminal justice system We are currently seeking to recruit 2 Senior Transition Workers in our Broken Hill Office: • 38 hours per week • Terms and Conditions of employment as per Level 5 Pay Point 3 of the SCHADS Award 2010 • Rate of pay equivalent to SACS Award Grade 5 year 2 - per annum gross plus generous salary packaging options • Based in Broken Hill To provide a broad range of transitional outreach casework services to people experiencing multiple needs including mental illness, cognitive impairment, AOD issues and homelessness as well as people who are exiting NSW Correctional Centres. Casework services are delivered on an outreach basis. Position is generally Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm; with occasional out-of-hours’ work to be performed as required. Essential Criteria: • Knowledge of issues relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities • Demonstrated casework experience working with men and women experiencing multiple needs including mental illness, cognitive impairment, AOD issues, homelessness and grievous self-harm • Experience in supervising staff • Experience in providing outreach casework support • Experience in the delivery of living skills programs • Knowledge of the issues facing people transitioning from prison to the community • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Driver’s License Desirable: • Knowledge of issues relating to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities • Knowledge of current Child Protection issues and legislation Although Aboriginality is not a specific criterion for eligibility for this project, it is anticipated that a high proportion of the target group will be Aboriginal. People of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders or culturally & linguistically diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
