Sent by Caterine Paton Hi, These two pics are from the late 50s and/or early 60s and show the origins of what is now Paton Industries in Geelong. It was located on the corner of Barwon Heads and Crowes Road in Belmont – opposite the Belmont Common. Maybe people could guess what it is. Many people would remember having their water tanks delivered on that old combi ute. The business was sold in 1975 when my father died. The new owners kept the name (paid for in those days as ‘good will’) and made the business into what it has become today. Very humble beginnings for what was to be turned into a very innovative business, providing all sorts of products to Geelong and the Western District. (NB no member of the Paton family has had any interest in the business [except for curiosity] since it was sold in 1975, but I love these old pics). Regards Catherine Paton
