We drive on to seek fairness from all PRESS RELEASE UKIP DEPUTY LEADER TO LAUNCH UKIP NORTH EAST CAMPAIGN HQ With just under 6 months to go until the general election, UKIP is set to open an official North East campaign HQ, following a region-wide surge in popularity of the party in recent months. The party’s deputy leader, Paul Nuttall MEP, Jonathan Arnott, the North Easts first ever elected UKIP MEP, and Blair Smillie, the Great Grandson of the Labour Party Co-Founder, will be in attendance to open the premises. Cllr Barry Elliott, who has funded the office, said “I was born in Blyth and have lived in the town my entire life. The Labour party have held this seat for over two decades, but still the same problems remain. Blyth needs a change, by launching this regional campaign HQ there is a clear signal of intent that we are not just the challengers to Labour here, but right across the North East of England”. The party came top in the European Elections in May in Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton and Tees, and less than 300 votes off finishing top throughout the whole of Northumberland. Since then, UKIP has gained a string of strong council by-election results, with the party recently winning its first ever elected councillor in South Tyneside. Jonathan Arnott, UKIP’s North East MEP said “I have been inundated with requests for help and support from people right across the region, with people stating that they feel completely neglected by the Labour Party. By opening this office, we are showing a clear commitment that we are here to stay and help the people of the North East”. ENDS
