Please know that out here in the real world, real Australians are terribly concerned about our Great Barrier Reef. This magical and very sensitive tourist magnet has been protected from vested interests for a very long time. Millions if dollars have been made by the tourist and associated industries for many years and all those concerned know its worth and the importance of stringent protections for it. Why would you be different? Why would you want to contaminate and destroy a wonderful place for Australian and international visitors to come in droves and look in wonder at this special place? Money, greed, power? Mining companies offering you bonuses, help, security? Mining companies leaning on you til you say YES knowing that you sign away the reef for all people to please a few? PLEASE DO NOT sign our heritage away. PLEASE DO NOT destroy that which inspires us. LEASE DO NOT let us down and disappoint us. Signed: Australian voters
