Sep 13, 2013 Mari Petroleum makes gas discoveries Mari Petroleum Company (MPCL) has made three gas discoveries in Daharki, Sindh. The discoveries were made during the drilling of exploration wells. The cumulative production from these discoveries to the country’s gas production is estimated to be 6.0 mmcfd. MPCL is the sole owner and operator of Mari D&P Lease. The wells were drilled back-to-back in Pirkoh formation and were spud-in and completed within a period of two months to depths ranging between 551 to 667 meters. The wells were drilled using MPCL’s own Skytop Brewester Rig and crew. Successful drill stems tests (DST) were carried out, by perforating Pirkoh Limestone which resulted in gas flow from all the three wells(The News)
