Seperate post as promised..... Ok so my mom invited us out to dinner for my birthday and she wanted to try Daves. We thought, OK, some reviews were not as benevolent and shining with praise, shall we say, but well give them a chance. We go in and hmmm, the decor is nice enough. The cute little gingham table clothes and the vinyl records on the wall. We get seated and order an appetizer.... Macho Nachos for $7.95........ You know with a name like that and that price point youre mind is picturing a generous pile of unbroken chips smothered in melted cheese maybe even with some taco meat or refried beans or maybe some green chili..... and sour cream or salsa..... ummmm yeah..... not gonna happen.... the chips were all broken, the cheese? Ive seen more as garnish on tacos at taco bell. The canned process cheese sauce was a nice touch. I think there were more black olives on the nachos then there was actual cheese. Dont get me wrong, the components for a good nacho were there( except for the cheese sauce) but the execution was sorely lacking. The guacamole, which cost an extra $1.50, was good though, it was not a pre packaged product which was nice. Now onto the main course. I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger, medium. Hubby ordered his hamburger The Outlaw medium rare, my niece ordered hers medium well. As you can see in the pictures, her medium well came out charred and pretty much inedible. Mine came out more well than anything (I do NOT like my meat cooked till its dehydrated), medium should have been just a blush of pink while still juicy. 2nd picture shows my burger as shriveled up dry and small, verging on charred... I decided to just try to eat it by slathering what guac we had left and some baked beans on there. It turned out to be seasoned well enough and then my other niece starts pointing at something on the other side, shes going ewwwwwww, Im like ok lets check it out...... well there was what looked like either an eyelash or part of a feather hanging off the lettuce, no it wasnt cheese, I checked. So after, disappointment after disappointment, I decided, enough is enough, thats it, Im done. About that time the waitress comes over and I show here what the problem was with the small white thing we found in my burger. She asks if there is anything wrong and I show her what we found and do you think her response is, Oh Im sorry, let me see what we can do to fix this! No, it wasnt.. Her response is No one in the kitchen has white hair! Im like ummmm yeah, take my plate Im done. No she did not ask if I wanted anything else til about 5 minutes after she cleared my plate, which by that time everyone else was all but done with their meals (what they could eat that is) so I declined. They did take off my burger from the bill, but didnt bother to tell anyone that till we were handed the bill (communication people, come on!) This restaurant has the potential for being a great place to eat, but only IF they up their game. Now if I can just remember my Yelp! password.... hmmmm
