Sept 16, 2014 Day 16 of my 30th Anniversary Month Challenge I really dont know how we got from this (pic #1) to this (pic #2) so quickly. You are an amazing woman to have carried, given birth, raised, loved and taught such four wonderful kids. I cant imagine going through it with anyone else. Each of them is so different and yet so much alike. They got some of their best qualities from you of course, and thats not just in the LOOKS dept. but thank GOD for that!!.......just sayin!....lol They are caring, compassionate and have a love for family and each other. I remember each time, after their birth, standing on the church platform with their tiny little body in our arms and their eyes looking up at us as if we were their entire world, to offer up a prayer of dedication to the Lord for thanksgiving, wisdom and submission that they were a gift from above. It was mind boggling as to how much love you can have for someone. We thought it wasnt possible to love something any more than we loved each other, but God created such love beyond any stretch of the imagination. The vastness of the responsibility can be overwhelming, and at times it was. I especially recall the first night home from the hospital with Meghann, our oldest. It was just the three of us in our duplex, no parents, no nurses, no one to help, just us. We all three were sitting at the base of the staircase crying because we had no idea what we were doing. BUT WE DID IT! And we did it together. You have been an awesome mother to our children. They have learned much from us as we also have learned much from them. One thing I learned is to never loose having that faith of a child. Its so simple yet so powerful. Once when Kaitlynn was little, maybe 6 or 8, she had a cyst, a growth on the back of her knee area. We had it examined and it was determined that it should be removed, surgically, because sometimes they will go away on their own while other times they can develop into tumors. Anytime your child is afflicted with anything medical it is scary. We conceded to have the surgery and it was scheduled. A few days before the appointment I asked Kait to come here a second as I wanted to have another look at the lump on her leg. I checked where I thought it was, no, I then checked the other leg, no. I couldnt find it so I asked her Kaitlynn, wheres that lump that was on your leg? and she answered in her tiny little raspy voice oh, I asked Jesus to take it away so he did. Then she just ran off and got ready for bed like it was no big deal. I was blown away. No surgery! It was gone! The faith of a child? Powerful Medicine. I know it took its toll on you, staying at home as a full time mom with four kids while I did my best working and trying to support us. I so much enjoyed the weekends when I would take all four of them camping out in the wilderness while you stayed at home to have what you called your sanity breaks. I would leave with them on Friday evening and head down to Guernsey County to our getaway spot and not return till late Sunday evening. They were so glad to see you as you were to see them. The funniest part was when you told me how much you needed and appreciated the break but yet by Saturday afternoon you missed them so much that you cried sometimes cause it was SO quiet.......lol. I couldnt win. :) You have been and still are a wonderful mother and our kids are lucky and blessed to have you. As am I. Thank you! Love ya!
