Sept :26: 2004: Mundrabilla : 119 kms ( 1561 kms) East: Break camp early after a thin breakfast and push into a brisk head wind for the Mundrabilla roadhouse which we reach well before nightfall. We meet Darren whos also cycling across this vast plain, with his Mum Bev, following behind in a support vehicle . Whatever the merits of this, Ill leave for others to judge, but I must admit, he had a beautifully ironed riding tunic , the creases of which would make excellent razors. All men are strong and well and in good spirits - the days rest has done us well and we feel reinvigorated. After dinner I go for my evening stroll and as I watch the lorry drivers coming and going from the roadhouse restaurant , I cant help but notice what rotund gentlemen they all seem . One, who passes by in a singlet and short pants, looks like hes heavily pregnant with child, and judging by his awkward gait, either suffering from hemorrhoids or about to give birth in the carpark .
