Sept 5, 2013 Camino Memory Schedule Departed Atlanta Set 4, 7:30 pm Arrived in London 9:00 am Headed to Paris. 11:30 via The Chunnel How do you condense everything: your most exhilarating feelings , experiences and God encoutners into a few paragraphs. I have never done anything like this before, so forgive me if it goes long. My second day of Pilgrimage brought all sorts of new experiences and adventures more that I could ever imagine. I visited two of my “Dream Cities” London and Paris in the same day. So much to tell: I could tell you of being terrorized by a customs agent; I could tell you about my suitcase wheels that had blow outs. ( thats a story) I could tell you about traveling in the Chunnel under the English Channel to Paris. I could speak of the beauty of Paris, the City of Lights. However I thought I would speak of how God met me at the Eiffel Tower. It was 3:30 in the afternoon I had just left Missionary Todd Tyson, who met me at the Gare de Nord Train station . Todd who is Jerry andAlice Sweazea a nephew is the Pastor of the international church in Paris. He was kind enough to take my extra luggage and hold it for me until I pick it up on my way back. I had just arrived at my lodging the Hotel Du Maine in the south Paris. I didnt want to be cooped up In my room alone. So with few more hours of day light left I went into Central Paris to see the sights What can I say Paris is so beautiful! I mean really. I saw the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the river Seine. I saw the Conciergerie, the prison made famous in the French Revolution. I walked down the Champs Eylesses, the road on which the Tour de France ends. After a while, I decided to go to the Eiffel Tower. As I was standing in the very long cue lines that sunny afternoon with hundreds of people waiting to go up the Eiffel Tower I suddenly a felt a deep loneliness settle in on me. For the first time I felt very alone and isolated. I think the looniest place to be is in a place by yourself where no one speaks your language. This is real isolation. Not only am I by myself , but there is not even a familiar word or phrase I can discern from others. So I watched people laugh, talk, and enjoy each others company While I just stood by assuming by peoples gestures and actions what they were saying. It was in such a moment like this, that I prayed and ask God to help me cause I need some encouragement. Time crept by and so did the line. I kept praying in my mind and talking with The Lord. When all of a sudden I noticed a woman staring at me in the cue line next to me. After looking at her; I figured she was an American. We have a look you know. Then she started to walk towards me. As she opened her mouth, I heard the most beautiful sound in the world it was melodious and heavenly I heard English!!!! Better than that I heard a English with a southern drawl. After I Hearing a cacophony of other languages and French I finally could connect with someone In my native tongue. Thank you Jesus! As we talked she called her husband and daughter over. It turns out they were visiting Paris as well. And look how God worked 1. They were from Union City Tennessee 2. They grew up Assembly of God 3. In fact the husband grew up with a good friend of mine, Pastor Ben Kirks mom. After about 10 minutes of conversation, the line moved on again and we said our good byes. However I was forever grateful. In answer to my prayer The Lord had sent His son a little encouragement on my this first day of his big journey to remind me He is with me. He knows the way I take and I have no need to be lonely, because He is with me and will supply my needs. Reflection: The Lord is with you and me and He really is leading and directing our steps if we trust Him. Jer 29:11 I took from this and still take is that Almighty God loves us so much that and is looking for ways to draw us to Himself. Before,I left on my pilgrimage, some dear friends of mine, who have ministered to me in during this season Bill & Ann Hobbs, gave me card. In it Ann had written a scripture that literally became my motto on this Pilgrimage. Psalm 37:23. (NLT) The Lord directs the steps of the godly, and He delights in every detail of their lives. I quoted it every day, and guess what He never left nor forsook me and He never will you either. And when you need Him He will be there . He says I will never leave you not forsake youHeb 13:5
