Sept. 8th - Life in Proverbs: Wisdom calls all men to Life - Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. - Proverbs 1:20 -23 The book of Proverbs provides us with practical instruction about how to live. The instructions in this book help us understand what is important and to recognize the substance that is required in order to have a fulfilled life. We have identified four characteristics of humanity, three of them that have an appetite for wisdom, and one that does not. We looked at the simple minded man, which is one that does not have much in natural skills and abilities or acquired wealth and accomplishments. Wisdom will give the simple substance and something they can stand on. We learned about the young man that was given knowledge and discernment so he would have the ability to properly use the gifts and skills given to him. We also learned about the wise man. Wise men access Gods wisdom and have the ability to continue to learn and increase the audience around them that will give them wise counsel. The last category of human character we learned about is the foolish man. Foolish people believe they have nothing more to accomplish or achieve; resting upon their own loftiness, despising wisdom and instruction. Wisdom is crying out to the general public, her voice distributed in the streets and common places awaits a response from someone that hears her call. Wisdom is the voice of God, His mouth piece and a divine attribute of His nature. Wisdom has the power to give and create life. Wisdom is the foundation tool that gives life to nothing-ness and provides the highest level of comparison to determine the difference between right and wrong.
