#Sept6CTA is a National Call to Action for YOU to stand against racism and our broken Criminal Justice System. This rally will be an opportunity for citizens to network with one another, share their stories and perspectives on how our city and country has failed to live up to the standard of justice for all and work to bring much needed changes to the policies that affect our communities the most. Pittsburgh Families for Justice As Healing will launch our #SpeakUpPgh Campaign as part of the Sept. 6th Call to Action. In order to ensure our voices are heard on the pressing issues of police brutality and lack of police accountability, racial profiling, failed Drug War tactics and unjust sentencing, we will collect grievances and demands from citizens to deliver to our local government. Materials will be on hand to educate people on their rights, how to take action and a directory of resources and organizations that can help better our neighborhoods. This will also be a space for people to grieve over the violence, hatred and injustice that has been inflicted upon them so we can connect with one another and work towards a common goal. Sponsors include ANSWER Coalition, Alliance for Police Accountability, Phat Man Dee Productions, Grown Men Entertainment/Team Able, New Voices Pittsburgh, Silver Lining, LLC, 1Hood Media, Judah Fellowship, Whats Up Pittsburgh, Garden of Peace Project and more. Performances by Black Rap Medusa, Phat Man Dee, Geña Música, Mr. Able/GME, 1Hood Media and more. Speakers include Pete Shell, Melanie Diore, Renee Gray, Andre Scott, Essence Howze, Pastor Shanea Leonard, Nicky Jo Dawson, Jessie Farine, Mike Battle and more. After the rally and march, come to the free screening of the documentary No Justice No Peace: Californias Battle Against Police Brutality & Racist Violence at the Hill District Carnegie Library on Centre Ave, sponsored by the ANSWER Coalition: https://facebook/events/719768124726121/ Now is the time for Unity and Action.
