September 11, 2014 STUFF THE PATROL CAR FEED THE HUNGRY Friday, September 19, 2014 11am to 7pm Maryland State Police-Easton Barrack 7053 Ocean Gateway Easton, MD 21601 EASTON, MD –Despite a recovering economy, demand for food assistance continues to grow among working families in suburban and rural areas across the state of Maryland, according to the recent Hunger in America 2014 report from Feeding America. With these statistics in mind, the Maryland Food Bank will join forces with the Maryland State Police, the Department of Transportation, and other law enforcement agencies to kick off Hunger Action Month 2014 on Wednesday, September 3. Throughout the month, Marylanders will have the opportunity to donate nonperishable items at police barracks and select Department of Transportation offices across the state, in addition to using the food bank’s new virtual food drive platform at https://fooddrive.mdfoodbank.org. This kickoff event will mark the beginning of a month of activities designed to raise public awareness of hunger while inspiring unified activism. The centerpiece of Hunger Action Month is the food bank’s Be a Voice Campaign, an interactive, online multimedia collaboration urging Marylanders to use their voices to share stories, volunteer, and donate food and funds, all in an effort to help end hunger.
