September 11th this time 12 years ago, I was sitting in lunch at school. I was one of the first classes to find out what was happening due to having TVs in the cafeteria and hearing so many friends getting picked up by there parents scared. There has always been a Fire dept. background in my family. I seen on tv the fire/rescue trucks responding to help hurt people. At that point especially once I got home shortly after I was certain that I wanted to be a firefighter in life. Here I am eleven years later still a firefighter & EMT helping people everyday to this very day and love everyday of it. FDNY had 343 firefighters on 9/11 that made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their life trying to protect people due to terrorism. Take a minute today & shake a hand, give a hug or just simply Thank a Firefighter, Medic, Police or any First Responder for what they do & last but not least please thank our amazing United States Military as there is still way to many men and women in the armed forces across seas defending our country!
