September 14-15 Weekend Preview Traveling to Ventura County - the Burbank Raptors will make their Fall 2013 Tournament debut at the Ventura Heat Club Program ran event held at Ventura & Oxnard High Schools. The Raptors will send 4 teams to the event - 9U/3rd Grade, 10U-4th/Grade, 11U-Black/5th Grade and 13U-White/7th Grade The 9U-3rd Graders whom for this is their very first event. The 9U is dealing with many of its young athletes being a part of the current AYSO and Flag Football season, so to get some of its players out to be a part of this tournament had a lot of planning and really depended on availability. *Still looking to fill slots on the team* The 9U seem poised and ready to play competition in their age group after working so hard against their older teammates for several weeks now! The 10U are coming off a strong 2-0 shoot-out weekend in Compton last weekend at Dominguez HS. Eager now to go out and compete for a tournament Championship, this is their 2nd tournament appearance as a team so they will be looking to ride their early season success to go out and win it! Our 11U-Black teams last tournament outing of the Summer season was one where not all of our players were available to compete. This time around we will have a full group and that alone could be all the motivation the kids need to get the job done. This will be the first time the team is all available to play together since they won the Impact Spring League back in late May. Winning a tournament over the summer and capturing a bronze in San Diego show you how much potential the boys have to really make some noise. 13U-White - renaming our color from Black for the 13U season is done to identify that this is a team that we will be placing in tournaments only. They are set to go out and compete together and the plan will be to take on all challengers each and every time out. The opportunity is there for this team to put the word out about our kids and we plan to have them do just that. This will be the first time we will be playing together under this style approach and it should lead to a very exciting weekend. Next weekend - September 21-22 will be a tournament weekend for the 11U-Red, 12U, 13U-Red and for the debut of our 8U-2nd Graders who will play in their first ever tournament. Looking Ahead: The Raptors 14U are preparing for games on September 29th as part of an AAU Shoot-Out as well as for a matchup on a Friday night where the y will be playing at STAPLES Center - Our programs annual STAPLES Center visit is November 4th the night the Clippers take on Houston Rockets - but for our 14s this is a special moment where they will actually play a game on the floor. The event takes place Friday October 18th! GO RAPTORS!
