September 14, 2014 I sincerely enjoy gathering with other believers in what is commonly called a church service. I love corporate worship, sharing the deeds of our Father, and having a deposit of God’s word made into my life. I don’t enjoy gathering with no purpose other than fulfilling a religious duty; I would rather gather and eat pizza. Having said that, 1st Corinthians 14:3 gives us some experiences of an anointed, God ordained gathering. One of these is “edification” which simply means to “build up” (opposite of destroy). When Gods people gather there should be a building up, not a destroying. We should leave the gathering with a sense of having been built up/edified, not torn down. I like to leave, and see others leave, with a twinkle in my eye and a dance in my step. Think On These Things
