September 16, 2014 So far nothing today has went right. Started out my shirt didn’t fit. We have a serious problem with our washing machine or dryer, one of them is shrinking the shirts until they are two tight around the neck and stomach. I guess it is time to purchase new machines; I am looking for one that has a “NO SHRINK GUARANTEE!” To add to the frustration I have a new computer, I am not computer literate or maybe it is nicer to say I am computer challenged. Getting the files I need transferred off my old computer onto my new computer is becoming a point of deep frustration. Also, the new computer is a different version which sends me on witch hunts looking for things and for a new computer it seems to be extremely slow. With all the above problems I feel like my day has started off schedule. As I was attempting to spend some quality time with the Lord this morning I was reminded of the text I preached about Sunday evening. It is the Words of Jesus recorded for us in Matthew 11:28-30. “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Jesus said take, “Take my yoke upon you.” I confess that I am a city boy and I know nothing about plowing with a tractor much less a team of oxen. But I know a yoke is a wood or steel contraption that goes around the neck of both animals. The purpose is to keep the animals working together, going in the same rhythm in the same direction. When Jesus said to His disciples, “Take my yoke upon you.” they understood exactly what He meant. Whatever we do we are to be connected with Him. When I preached this sermon Sunday night I downloaded a picture of a yoke for a visual, however, because I am not used to the new computer I deleted it before it ever got on the power point for the message. However, I do have it on my new desktop background. Why do I have a picture of an ugly yoke to look at every morning on my desktop? It is a reminder that I am not in this by myself. Jesus has offered for me to hook up with Him and together we can do it. It makes all the difference in the world. By the way if you find a sale to on shrink free washers and dryers would you let me know?
