September 17th, 1939 Soviet Union attacked the eastern territories of Poland according to the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact from August 23rd the same year. I happen to be researching now in Przemyśl which became the border city of the two totalitarian systems occupying Poland. The San river turned into the new border became for many Christian and Jewish Poles the place of critical choice of German Nazi or Russian Soviet Occupation.
