September 2013: "Kingdom Gymnastics CHALK TALK" Parents, students, former students and friends are all welcome to help Kingdom Gymnastics celebrate their third anniversary at Open Gym on Friday, October 11th. All participants in Open Gym will receive a raffle ticket. Prizes to be given out include t-shirts, and gift certificates of $20.00, $30.00 and $50.00. Please remember that if you invite neighbors, or relatives, all participants under 18 must have a current liability waiver signed by a parent. Announcing our September Gymnasts of the Month: Team Program – Zoe Montague, age 11, was part of our fifth place Level 4 team at States last year and is competing on our 2013 Level 4 team (which is actually a higher level due to USAG changes) this year. Zoe has worked incredibly hard to get the skills to move up to a higher level. Zoe even kept up with a conditioning program and practiced in a gym in Colorado while on summer vacation. Her improved form, poise, and confidence are most noticeable on balance beam! Zoe has recently nailed a beautiful front salto with a full twist off the tumble track. With her warm personality and engaging smile, Zoe is a delight to her teammates and coaches alike. Boys Program – Hero McCarty, age 10, has been doing gymnastics with our boys class off and on for the past three years. Hero is very focused in class and always tries hard to do his best. Hero is working on circles on the mushroom (a more advanced skill for boys in the recreational classes) and has recently achieved his backhandspring on the trampoline. His round-off is very good; we expect that soon Hero will be doing round off backhandsprings on the tumble track. Recreational Program –Sara McCaffrey, age 4 ½, is in our Thursday Beginner Class. Sara is mature beyond her years when it comes to listening, following directions, remembering directions and making corrections. Actually Coach Donna has never seen anyone her age do it so well…..EVER! Sara also shows an aptitude for gymnastics, as she naturally shows good form on all of her skills and is very strong. Preschool Program – Piper Hall, age 3, is very strong and is a natural for gymnastics! She achieved a headstand on almost her first attempt and seems to know instinctively how to make her legs tight and together with pointed toes when doing a front support on the bars and other skills. Piper was absolutely thrilled when she first got up on the high beam! Piper bubbles over with joy and enthusiasm during her Tuesday Kindergym class. PARENTS– Please remember that Session 1 ends Saturday, October26th, which is also the deadline for dropping Session 2. Otherwise your child is still enrolled.
