September 22, 2013 Broken Vessel Ministries at 10:00 am Luke 14: 12-33 and 1 John 3:16 If you missed it here are the highlights of today’s sermon: Luke 14: 27, “And whosever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple,” was today’s primary message. In worship we listened to Pastor Jermaine T. Maberry discuss the primary purpose for Broken Vessel Ministries, “Church is the hospital for the sick.” Pastor Maberry explained that to be a true disciple, one must understand that we all have imperfections. It is vitally important that we, as disciples, be ready to serve the Lord by taking time to come to church to hear the word of the Lord. It is not enough to just sit in the pews and listen; one must be ready to surrender their time for the Lord. 1 John 3:16, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” This is how we know what love is, Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. Therefore, we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. Ask yourself, “What am I willing to sacrifice for God? “ Then make that sacrifice and dedicate your life to upholding your word for the Lord.
