September 22, 2014 “Its a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you dont keep your feet, theres no knowing where you might be swept off to.” ~J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings(Bilbo Baggins part) Yes, the road is a dangerous place and once you set off down such a path, you’re never really sure where it is going to take you. The author of this book was on point with this one. It is true in our everyday lives...some of us are so content with our surroundings and we sometimes fear what else is out there that we just stand still and we dont get to see the beauty out there...yup, even in our close to home environments...we fear going to other cities,and countries because we only see what bad is out there...never the good...some of us are even in a city where we havent even seen much of that in which we live. I can assure that if we become open to traveling that one can have their eyes opened to new sights, new issues facing other peoples and the beauty of our world. We can go beyond the usual and see the unknown...we can then create beautiful new experiences with new people, new culture, new hobbies and interests...we can truly SEE the world in which is available to us ALL...so with that being said.................. ASSIGNMENT Today, make it your business to explore the unknown...to see the beauty in others, and in places...start with your own environment...that little coffee shop you havent been in...that little jazz place you tempted to walk in on numerous occassions...go in...step out of your norm...take a road trip...with you and your significant other and/or friends. Then work your way up to new experiences...start saving for a trip...join a travel club...look into a time share...find you a travel agent...google and compare prices...do what you have to do to see the world...so many wonderful things right under our noses...its waiting for us to explore. You never know what great moments you can create by STEPPING OUTSIDE OF YOUR DOOR...BE SWEPT AWAY INTO THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD. *Keep a Journal*
