September 30, 2014 Childhood Cancer Awareness Month ends in a few hours. Did you make a difference? Multiple schools in Whitfield and Murray County, Georgia have raised awareness, makes me very proud. Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga had an awareness day last week and today showed the incredible video that Hoda from the Today show had made for Childhood Cancer Awareness. Today, Hamilton Medical Center was Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness, they gave out gold ribbons and fact cards, they had a huge banner for associates to sign. I am proud to call Hamilton my workplace since 1994! Sunday, I spent most of the day at the Chattanooga Ironman cheering on every athlete that passed me, but there was one athlete in particular that is especially inspiring, Jason Greer. Jason and I have gotten to know each other in the last year. We have a common bond, childhood cancer! I really have no words for the experience of watching the ironman and Jason’s journey for Tristin and his special finish. But, I will say this, Jason’s son Tristin has been enduring treatment for stage 4 Neuroblastoma for 4 and a half years, he has endured many ironmans! My Christian, during her last 42 days was literally doing an ironman over and over again...I realized that Sunday. I have watched many videos, but this video is one of the best I have ever seen. Jason Greer, you have inspired millions! Tristin, keep fighting!
