September 9th, 1964. Hurricane Dora hits Florida. A category 4 hurricane, with wind speeds up to 130 mph, Dora rips through Florida, leaving many without power, and many without homes. However, the midst of all this destruction and turmoil came one very bright spot, for the present, and the future. A little girl was brought into the world. That little girl has brought happiness to so many. That little girl has set an example for living a Godly life, even when things are not comfortable. That little girl has made my life, and possibly the world, better with her existence. That little girl is my mother, Linda Baughman Boehmer. The Lord brought her into the world safely during hurricane Dora, and has continued to kept her safe throughout the hurricane that is her life. Her strength and patience is shown in the eight children that she has raised, children who have not always appreciated her. Her selflessness is made plain in the amount of time, money, and energy she puts into the ministry run out of her home, and her Joy in the Lord is seen through her smile, even when things are tough. The Lord has Blessed her, and she in turn, blesses those around her. I could not have asked for a better mother to teach me, and raise me into who I am today! And even though it doesnt always seem to be true, I am so grateful for your selflessness, and patience. Happy Birthday Mamma! I Love You!
