September/October 2013 Newsletter September Old Business: Ø The family of Roger Denslow has donated a riding lawn mower and weed whacker to the club in Roger’s honor. The mower was in good condition but needed some attention. Thank you Jon Olsen for getting it back into tip top shape. Thank you to the Denslow family for your contribution. Ø Logging prospects are ongoing but not too promising at this point. Ø The ice maker donation fell through. Ø Thank you Steve Probst and John Tomasik for running the bowshoots. Ø The POC Chicken BBQ was a good success. Thank you Chuck Parks, Mike & Linda Wellman, Marshall Sackman, Dave Scholl, Hannah Scholl, and all that helped to make it a success. September New Business: Ø A potential new member, Rick Gallippo, was introduced at the September meeting. Rick is being sponsored by Dave Scholl and will be voted on at the October meeting. Thank you Dave for bringing new people to the club! Ø A new member, Ken Tyler, was voted in at the September meeting. Ken was sponsored by Al Eichenberg. Thank you Al for bringing new people to the club and welcome Ken! Ø Board elections were held at the September meeting. Your newly elected board members are Marshall Sackman, President; Brian Maynard, Vice President; Matt Miller, Secretary; Rob Burritt, Treasurer; Spike Clem, Dave Scholl, and Fred Carlson, Trustees. Thank you board members for your service during the last year. Ø Friday Night Fish Frys begin Oct. 4th and run through Oct. 25th. Ø Steve Gregerson was drawn for the attendance drawing and he was not present. October Old Business: There was no old business discussed at the October meeting. October New Business: Ø Sunday Bowshoots are now over. They were a good success. Ø Corrections officers from the Cotton facility will be hosting their annual Slug Fest on October 26th and 27th. The club earns $5 from each entry. Ø Mike Wellman has ball caps and skull caps available for purchase. Ø Bob Dodd got the wood out from the tree that was cut up. The wood sold for $30 and Ø went to the club. Thanks for your help Bob. Ø 2014 dues are now being accepted. Dues are $50 and can be paid at the monthly meeting or deposited in a drop envelope with your name and put down the chute. Ø Horseshoes and Trap are now over for the year. Thank you to Bob Lucas for running Horseshoes this year. Thank you to Mike & Linda Wellman and team who helped to make trap a huge success. Mike stated that we have had our best year yet. Ø The Friday Night Fish Frys are off to a good start. The first night we served 68 dinners. Thank you Dave Scholl and crew for running the event through the end of October. Ø Bob Dodd was voted to be in charge of all wood cutting at the club. If you would like to cut wood at the club, you must contact Bob before cutting. ONLY DEAD WOOD IS PERMITTED TO BE CUT AND THE COST IS $10 PER TRUCKLOAD PAID AT TIME OF CUTTING. Ø A new member, John Robe, was introduced at the October meeting. John is being sponsored by Mark Miller. Thank you Mark for bringing new people to the club! Ø A new member was voted in at the October meeting. Rick Gallippo was introduced at the September meeting and was sponsored by Dave Scholl. Thank you Dave for bringing new people to the club and welcome Rick! Ø Raffle tickets are almost all sold and we will draw the winner once all stubs are turned in. Ø Matt Miller was drawn for the attendance drawing and he was not present.
