September is Chiari malformation awareness month. Every 1 in 1,000 people are diagnosed with chiari and I happen to be one of them. It I a very serious condition, and there is no cure only treatment. One being brain surgery which I was lucky enough to have. I was very close to being paralyzed by this Im lucky that it was caught in time. Some people are not as lucky. Though the surgery prevented me from becoming paralyzed I still deal with this on a daily basis and most people have no idea how this effects my life.
