September is here! Its officially Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! Prepare to be made AWARE..aware that these precious children receive less than 4% of research funding from the National Cancer Institute. They want us to believe that its rare, but it is NOT rare. Think of all of the kids youve heard about over this last year that have been diagnosed, just in this area alone. We started Makaylynns Mission 3 years ago to raise awareness and funding to go directly toward research and programs for childhood cancers, which is why the money we raise (over $20,000) is given to the Alexs Lemonade Stand Foundation. In addition to our lemonade stand at the Chicken Festival at the end of the month, you can help us all month long by joining our team and logging miles as we walk, run, or bike our way to find a cure.
