Serah Culler asked: Do you know any other ballads like Reynadine, and if so, where could I find them? There have been a few questions about Reynadine so Ill answer this one. I learned this version from Anne Briggs singing on the 1966 recording The Bird and the Bush. From best I can tell, she probably got it from A.L. Lloyd, who crafted it from a couple of different versions. A great place to go for some meticulous research on this and many other ballads is the Mudcat Café (mudcat.org). For more ballads in this vein, look up the following recordings: The Bird in the Bush: Traditional Folk Songs of Love & Lust High Atmosphere: Ballads and Banjo Tunes from Virginia and North Carolina My Dearest Dear by Sheila Kay Adams (my favorite ballad singer of all time) Ballads from her Appalachian Family Tradition by Jean Ritchie Enjoy! -Rhiannon
