Serbian non-governmental organization encouraged to collect aid for refugees from the South-East of Ukraine Serbian non-governmental organization (NGO) Forum for Peace of equal in rights urged compatriots to assemble funds and humanitarian assistance for needy refugees from the South-East of Ukraine. We call on to start action on assemblage of a voluntary humanitarian aid to Serbia. Our organization has already helped one family of refugees from Ukraine, who arrived to Serbia at the confluence of circumstances. We encourage the members, friends and partners of our organization to continue monetary donations and expand the campaign to collect humanitarian aid, - said Zivadin Jovanovic, the head of NGO, the former Foreign Minister of Yugoslavia. On Thursday, he appeared in House of Trade Unions in the center of Belgrade, at the opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the humanitarian catastrophe in Odessa, Lugansk, Donetsk and other cities in the South-East of Ukraine affected by conflict. According to Jovanovic, the exhibition aims to fill the void in the informational space and talk about the current humanitarian problem. Western media, non-governmental sector, humanitarian organizations and politicians are keeping silent on the loss of life in the South-East. Seems that everyone of them wants to hide something, as evidenced by this photo exhibition, - said Jovanovic. On dozens of photographs, some of which are works of Andrew Stenin, photojournalist of IIA Russia Today, who died in August in Donetsk region in the performance of an editorial assignment, showing the destroyed streets, houses, suffering of civilians, women and children caught in the combat zone. According to the Forum for Peace of equal in rights, which organized the exhibition, photographs will help to well-intentioned people to find out what is really happening in the South-East of Ukraine, including the numerous human rights violations by the Ukrainian authorities.
