Serco-NA is currently seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Engineer (NC50764282) in Washington, DC. Position details are below; if you are qualified and interested in moving forward, please apply online at: serco-na/careers or send your resume to coretta.blake@serco-na Job Description: The Senior Middleware Engineer will manage UNIX applications and work with the database and development community to tune application performance, tweak existing systems and introduce proactive changes following our established change management procedures. The Senior Middleware Engineer will utilize skills in a programming or scripting language to automate routine tasks or solve system problems. They will also troubleshoot related application and system problems and handle some system administration duties as part of a highly skilled UNIX team. They will advise a junior team member on more complex application issues. Perform as the highest level technical expert, providing both internal and external consulting services. Work independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects. Develop and may conduct training programs. Remain current in operating systems/software analysis technological developments and applications. Recommend future direction or projects to management. Provide expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system. Required Skills and Experience: A Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of ten to twelve years of relevant work experience are required. Engineers storage solutions 1. 8 + years of Weblogic experience on a UNIX platform. 2. 5 + years of experience in tomcat/apache, Sun One webserver, and PHP. 3. 8+ years scripting experience. Extensive experience in developing WLST scripts and automating the deployment process. Experience with other scripting languages required (BASH, etc.) 4. Extensive experience in finding memory leaks and adjusting JVM Heap Sizes. 5. Extensive experience in troubleshooting WebLogic Production problems and supporting production: installation, configuration of hardware and software, migrating systems to current OS releases. 6. Experience in WebLogic server performance tuning (OS, JVM, Network and Database). 7. Experience using monitoring tools like BMC Patrol or Nagios. 8. Server performance tuning experience - Thread Dump Analysis, Core Dump Analysis after server crashes. 9. Unix Administration and basic troubleshooting skills. United States Citizenship is required.
