[Serendipity] Do you believe in serendipity? I do. Not in a fortune cookie manner but I believe there are good people to be met and good events that can take place, if only you trust enough. Today, one of my good buddies, Atul, hosted me at LinkedIns 1-month old spiffy new office! How I met him? Over a year back, I just chatted him up (no, not in the way youre thinking) when I wanted to run an event to help undergraduates and graduates get acquainted with LinkedIn. And little did I know that I will find a supportive and solid friend at a company Im in love and inspired by. So enough with the emo stuff, heres a rundown of whats cool at LinkedIns new office: 1. Huge wide open and collaborative spaces with ample couches so you can just lounge for a 1-to-1 chat and rooms for the usual business meetings 2. A members corner that will eventually be opened to public and with LinkedIn reps to support you in person if you have any issues with the platform 3. Ritual gym trainers as their in-house fitness facility for their staff welfare (I will join the company just for this alone to work on my burgeoning waistline) 4. A sound-proof room for employees to play table tennis and foosball with a gorgeous view of the marina 5. Awesome dining facilities and provision for employees and visitors 6. Even more awesome people and it being Christmas, there were teams of people doing spontaneous caroling and celebration was in the air! 7. All round smart, brilliant and inspiring people working for a vision to connect professionals in the world for opportunities During our short catch-up, we also connected briefly with Hari Krishnan, MD APAC of LinkedIn, also one of my 12 esteemed contributors for my INSPIRIT Book (publishizer/inspirit/) was around and we yakked briefly on the progress of the book. Heads up, you will want to learn from Hari especially when hes heading the regional efforts for one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world! In our short tour too, we also discussed possibilities for collaborations in the next year. Exciting stuff are in the pipeline evidently! May you too, find serendipity in your world today! :)
