Jonathan [Inter] His absolutely devastating runs left Michelangelo Albertazzi feeling as if he was Indiana Jones chased by that giant rolling boulder at the beginning of Raiders. Always an outlet on the right flank he set up the opener and scored himself. Magnificent. Felipe del Belo [Parma] Fitted so smoothly into Gabriel Paletta’s place that the defence worked as well as ever, such was his glove-like partnership with Alessandro Lucarelli. Won all his aerial battles and his disciplinedmovement helped to keep Mario Balotelli under control. Diligent. Cesare Bovo [Genoa] Made several crucial clearances and remained disciplined and energetic throughout. Nullified most of Napoli’s forward threats and was dominant on the ground and in the air, while he also made a couple of key passes. Solid. Stefan Radu [Lazio] Looked as solid as ever on the left and kept Cagliari at bay with ease. Never really looked troubled as he anticipated any problems before they happened. Reassuring. Juan Cuadrado [Fiorentina] A matchless performance topped with a classic goal with the ball leaving his foot like a streak of flaming mercury to burn its way into the net. His clever running also helped set up Alessandro Matri’s goal. Quicksilver. Hernanes [Inter] The Prophet became more believable as the game progressed and when he starts Inter win. He almost scored with a wonder free-kick then set up Jonathan with the perfect ball down the right, before another powerful shot screamed narrowly over. Incisive. Giacomo Bonaventura [Atalanta] Worked superbly well with Luca Cigarini with 22 passes between them, kept his head and always seemed to know his next move. Constantly probing he headed home the second goal from Cigarini’s assist and surely impressed the watching Cesare Prandelli. Penetrating. Balde Diao Keita [Lazio] Was everywhere, coming in from either wing, running from deep, played off the shoulders of defenders and had more shots than all Cagliari put together. Rewarded for his phenomenal work rate when latching on to Miroslav Close’s pass to blast home. Illuminating. German Denis [Atalanta] The Tank steamrolled the Samp defence setting up one goal and scoring another. He also helped his defensive colleagues by being the ultimate first line of defence. His outstanding flick for Carlos Carmona’s goal was worth the admission alone. Dynamic. Antonio Cassano [Parma] The Man of the Match played in an indefinable role that foiled Milan’s defenders. Opened the scoring with a coolly taken penalty and had a few more superb efforts with his clever positioning and runs before scoring his second. Unstoppable.
