Serious question - why is it that most people trust their doctors word to be the god honest truth? Why do people put their doctor or midwife on a pedestal, as if they know EVERYTHING, And therefore nothing must be questioned...? Any health care professional who says or acts like they know everything - is full of shit. There is always room for growth, always something to be learned. They should ALWAYS make time to answer your questions, and address your concerns. Its terribly upsetting to me when I speak to women and men, who look to their OB or GP for the be-all-end-all truth. If your doctor makes you feel uncomfortable or undermines you - CHANGE PROVIDER. Reality check - not every health professional can be trusted to keep your BEST intention number one priority. It is YOUR responsibility to find a care provider who works for YOU. It is YOUR responsibility to find a professional who respects your body & baby, and who honours the process of birth by practicing honesty and integrity. I say this with love. Please stop being so naive. Just because someone is a doctor, doesnt mean they give a crap about ANY issue that may be important or of sensitive nature to you. KNOW your worth, FIGHT for your rights, ENJOY this time in your life by SURROUNDING yourself with strong, positive professionals and nonprofessional alike. Much love to all you beautiful people....
