Serious question time. We are looking for serious, well thought out responses. Any curse word laced rants will be deleted. Where does the HP war end? Its somewhat easy to find the road map to 1000hp in 2014. Is that enough or is that just scratching the surface? Do you purchase Mopar because of the performance available directly off the showroom or is your decision based on a love for the brand and the community? Can the factory build a 700+ hp answer to what we see as the top of the food chain regarding the other brands? Absolutely. Is it cost effective to do this and place the price tag on that vehicle that it would most definitely have to carry? We just arent sure. How many 700hp Challengers would be sold at 65-80k assuming that is somewhere near what they would have to price a car with that level of power. We have a massively tunable platform to build off of with the 5.7. 500-600hp is easily achieved with that engine. The 6.1 and now the 6.4 is a tuners paradise. We have our doubts that many 700hp Factory cars would actually be sold. There are tons of folks that scream for a manual transmission 300 and Charger, but at the end of the day it just would not sell enough to justify building the car. Is it possible that we are better off with the infinitely tunable power plants that we have been provided and the tuning solutions that are available without having the high horse factory option? We are looking forward to your responses to these questions. Thanks in advance for truly thinking about them before you let raw emotion take over. Its not that we dont want the power. Its quite easy to add if you truly need more.
