Seriously I dun care whether its a First World Nation or a First World Parliament or a First World Govt. All these mean nothing to us if our lives are forever embedded with debts. There must be reasonable justification for all govt spendings that adds value to the Singaporeans and the economy. The govt can spend billions on building projects without batting an eye but when it comes to providing free education, medical and old folks, they will come out with lots of excuses not to spend. Then when election comes, they will dangle them as carrots. This is equivalent to holding u ransom and threatening u to vote for them. Sorry, it doesnt work that way. That is not the way to earn respect and trust. Its like if yr partner betrays u, he or she can just buy some sweets n flowers to appease u to earn back yr trust? They can do it once or twice but the 3rd time, sorry..........the door is there.
