Cee-Lo, Ray Rice, Donald Steling, etc., etc. Do you all not see even billionaires and millionaires, entertainers and athletes, corporate ceos and degreed professionals losing their jobs because of stupid stuff that goes up on social media? And yall still putting up pictures of you smoking weed in states where it isnt legal? Yall still making snarky remarks about your bosses and students, time-stamped to show you were posting during the work day? Yall still threatening to whoop somebodys a*** and blow s### up? Yall still taking pictures of your guns and your boobs? Yall still wondering why the interview was going fine until the HR director started typing and then she looked from the computer to you and basically rushed through the rest of the questions? You wanna know why your contract didnt get renewed even though you work site evaluation went fine? You wanna know why you were randomly selected for a drug test at work? Ill tell you why: GOOGLE. Your words and your image are NOT private online, but they are admissible in court. They are perfectly acceptable reasons to deny you employment. A student videotaping a fight can be punished like the kids throwing punches. A 6 second Vine video from 7th grade can cost your child a scholarship to college. One album of up-in-da-club pics on Instagram can render your degree useless. And I guarantee you that family courts and child protection agencies will soon start using your own social media to justify changes in custody and support decrees. But yall still posting this mess. Da crap is still wrong with yall?!?
