Sermon for the day: It is time for mainstream Christianity to divorce themselves from white, blond hair, blue eyed Jesus and his pristine robes. Jesus couldnt be farther from that image. I am sure some of you just GASPED. Time for most of you to connect to brown, hairy, unruly bearded, dirty, homeless Jesus. You know that Jesus who was in the wilderness, that Jesus who was a carpenter, that Jesus who looks more like todays Muslim male but grungy. Im tired of seeing pictures of European Jesus and people thinking that brings some kind of superiority with his perfectly manicured look and bleached robes. Sheltering yourself and your kids from dirty sinners that dont look and act like your white washed version of Christianity and Jesus does not do you, your kids, or your faith any service. - The Rev
