They put their efforts into engaging in a community art and gardening project called SAGAS, Saving Appalachian Gardens and Stories, funded by the Appalachian Regional Committee. Avery and her peers worked to gather heirloom seeds and the stories associated with their family history from the surrounding county families. After receiving the results from the project and growing the seeds in the demonstration garden on campus, the arts based research was presented at the Federal ARC Conference in Washington, DC. The students will elaborate on the success of this program. Childrens Faith Development Classes are downstairs following the announcements and story-time. Child-care is provided.
