Set Aside for Stillness When we are ill, we have a tendency to - TopicsExpress

Set Aside for Stillness When we are ill, we have a tendency to groan in our souls. “Why would you lay me aside for illness, Lord?” we plea. “What good can I do in this feeble state?” we ask. I heard it once said, “Perhaps we are not laid aside for illness, but rather set aside for stillness.” We can do no work while we perceive ourselves in illness. Our focus is on our natural state and our misery but, when we realize we’ve been set aside for stillness, we have opened the gates for the Lord to work. What is the work we can do during this time of stillness? Prayer. One of the greatest prayers in the history of mankind was lifted up in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is there that the Lord lifted His voice to heaven and said, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42) The Lord Jesus had to surrender His will to the Father. We have to surrender our will to the Father. The will of God is for us to commune with Him in prayer. During stillness, He has cast away all other earthly concerns and called us to sit as His feet and learn of Him. Write a list of everyone you need to pray for, then bow your head and pray. Pray hedges of thorns around the ones you love, and ask the Lord to release battalions of warring angels to fight the spiritual battles which surround them. You cannot fight a spiritual battle with natural means. Allow the Lord to enter into each situation, tenderly lifting up your loved ones to Him. He has set you aside so that you can release spiritual means into the spiritual battles around them. Cast all of your care on Him for He careth for you. (1 Pet. 5:7) Truly, you have been set aside for stillness. Please Like and Share this message. You can make a difference...
