Settlement work reviewed RD exhorts SDMs, Tehsildars to come upto expectations of land owners Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 19: Regional Director, Land Records and Surveys, Jammu, R K Shavan today exhorted SDMs and Tehsildars to come up to the expectations of the landowners. Mr Shavan, who is also ex officio Settlement Officer Jammu was reviewing the pace of settlement operations in Jammu region in a meeting of SDMs of Jammu district. The Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars also attended the meeting. The SDMs were made aware about their role as Assistant Settlement Officers within their jurisdiction as per SRO 505 issued by the Government. It was further deliberated to speed up the work of settlement operations in the district. The Regional Director Survey & Records emphasized for frequent field visits and monitoring at the level of SDMs and Tehsldars. The SDMs were directed to ensure depositing of all the copies of Parat Sarkar in the Records Room against proper receipt so that nobody is made to suffer due to negligence on the part of the revenue officials. The issues pertaining to identification and mapping of State/ Shamilat land were also discussed particularly the land of Jammu Development Authority in view of the directions issued by the High Court. The Tehsidars were directed to issue the demarcation plan in their areas and also put up all such mutations under Section 13and 28-A of Agrarian reforms Act before Collector Agrarian Reforms (SDMs) wherein violations of Agrarian Reforms Act regarding change of land use and illegal creation of tenancy/transactions have occurred. It was further retreated to attest at least 10 mutations per Tehsil in favour of State for violations committed by the unauthorized land use for commercial banquet halls, hotels, shopping malls, illegal colonies.
