Seven days ago, Ace fighter pilot, Major Jonathan Otongo and his wingman were flying back to base after destroying Aarare in Somalia, an Al Shabaab camp. The Major radioed a distress call to his wingman after his plane, an F-5 E Tiger fighter jet developed mechanical problems in enemy territory. The plane then disappeared from radar. Alshabaab militants found the aircraft fuselage and burnt it. It is believed that the Major had already ejected from his seat before impact. He is somewhere behind enemy lines trying to reach a friendly base. I wish this superb hero all the best as he tries to find his way home. Major Otongo is one of Kenyas finest fighter pilots and is well decorated, having been awarded the Order of the Golden Warrior last year. Kenya has our own ace, a maverick, and a classic hero story in the making. May we cheer the brave soldier as he comes back. Truly one who deserves to be celebrated by all citizens. Serving God and Country! #BringMajorOtongoHome let us share widely and use the hashtag. Lets bring our boy back home
