Seven hours ago, I shared a photo a friend had posted citing a survey which indicated a lamentable lack of both tolerance and vocabulary in the US population. There was no reference given nor details to lend credibility to the statement in the photo. I commented:.................................................................................................. .....and yet we have cut education budgets nationwide, while patting ourselves on the backs as a tolerant, free, egalitarian paradigm for the rest of the world; SMH. .........................................................................................................................................It was irresponsible of me to re-post the photo. Below are the comments I received, which I appreciate very much for reminding me to practice what I preach and vet sources before sharing. The statistic could be true of the general population as it implies, or just 5 patrons at a bar, or made up as the person was creating it, and I have no way of knowing. I apologize for wasting some good people’s time and inconveniencing many millions of electrons needlessly. Not wishing to delete others’ insightful comments along with the photo, I post them here: • J.d. It reminds me of the time back around 1970 when a man was being interviewed and asked what he thought of our Cambodian position. He said, I like it fine, but it hurts my wifes knees! Hmmmmm. You cant fix stupid! 5 hours ago • Unlike • 1 • Martin Giles tolerant, free, egalitarian paradigm for the rest of the world Hmmm. Its an interesting perspective! 4 hours ago • Unlike • 1 • Geri Kail What if they learned that their daughter was a thespian? 3 hours ago • Unlike • 3 • Cynthia Carle What survey? By whom? When?
