Seven more Manchester United players could be sold by Louis van Gaal There was always a possibility of wholesale changes to Manchester United‘s squad this season both in departures and arrivals, and according to The Telegraph, there are nine players who could leave United this summer. Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand have already left but Javier Hernandez, Nani, Tom Cleverley, Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Wilfried Zaha and Anderson have all been named as players who are in danger of being sold. The prospect of nine players leaving Old Trafford this summer is staggering but there is justifable reasoning behind almost every name that has been mentioned. Hernandez has been encouraged to leave by his national team manager and he is unlikely to be happy at being United’s fourth choice striker for another season. As for Nani, he has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A despite signing a new contract last year. Young is a player who many fans would be happy to see the back of as would Anderson as neither player has lived up to expectations. The same goes for Cleverley but Van Gaal would have to make some serious central midfield re- inforcement before selling two of our current ones given how thin the squad is in that department. Fellaini has also failed to fulfil his potential but it is unlikely Van Gaal would get rid of him so soon. The same goes for Zaha who should get at least one more opportunity to prove himself. All of the named players might not be sold in the same window but you would understand if it a lot of them were to leave, so long as United brought in better replacements.
