Seven oneliners on Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis from Harrison 18th ed 1)Autoimmune disease characterised by IgG antibodies against Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor.(GM-CSF) 2)Dysfunction of macrophages results in reduced surfactant clearance. 3)There is accumulation of amorphous,PAS-positive lipoproteinaceous material in the distal air spaces. 4)There is LITTLE OR NO lung INFLAMMATION and the underlying lung architecture is preserved. 5)Pattern of inheritance of Congenital Alveolar Proteinosis is Autosomal Recessive. 6)Chest X-ray may show bilateral symmetric alveolar opacities located centrally in middle and lower lung zones results in a batwing distribution 7)HRCT shows a ground glass opacification and thickened intraloblar structures and interlobular septa.
