Seven rural fire units will conduct a large hazard reduction burn in the Stanwell Power Station area (west of Gracemere) today and Tuesday, 12 August. The burn is 70ha in size and is expected to cause large volumes of smoke in the surrounding area. Residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and keep medication close by if suffering from a respiratory illness. Smoke may affect visibility and motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and be mindful of emergency vehicles operating in the area.
