Several friends here are going through, well, lets call them interesting times. Changes for better or worse are abound, and the reactions are as individual as those going through them. I suppose thats to be expected. We only make public those things that are significant to us; those changes, big or small in our lives. Well, that and Sharknado 2: the Sharkening news. We all react differently to the things in our lives. What breaks my heart to see is the palpable sense of pain that gets expressed here. And some of us beat ourselves up about things weve done, as if that extra pain will somehow purify our souls, and make us more whole or something. Thats one heavy burden to carry around. What we need to see is the opportunity that change represents. I endured the horrors of working in Hackettstown for a horrible boss, and even considered leaving teaching. This all led to the soul-renewing experience of Bloomfield. As one relationship ends, there is room for a new one. So make it a point to have a good relationship with yourself. If you can do that, you can handle anything. And lets be careful out there...
