Several instances throughout the night... but at 5:30am... this one blew in: Thirty-Eight Guns Ablaze – Jame A. Riley It breaks the horizon, black and distantly brooding. Soon cannon fire resounds; echoes off far hillsides With far-away crack and muzzle flash. The rapid encroachment of darkening skies as Fusillades flash and rumble through the maelstrom; Another broadside thundering into the night. The approach is exceedingly swift. Sheets of rain descend from angered boiling clouds As it roars into view then quickly engulfs us. The angry din from its vicious & terrifying crew can be Heard as the rising of fierce winds and pounding rain. Another blinding flash and boom of cannon Rumbles & roars through the drenching deluge.
