Several kidney donors and recipients gathered at the North Pavilion this morning to share their stories with local media outlets. Dr. Jayme Locke, surgical director of the Incompatible Kidney Transplant Program at UAB and other members of the medical team joined them to talk about the UAB Kidney Chain. The chain, which began in December 2013, has matched 34 living donors with 34 recipients to create the longest kidney-transplant chain ever recorded in the United States.
