Several months ago, one of Sweet Paws Rescue’s partners was contacted about two Massachusetts purebred black lab siblings who were in need of a new home. Their owner didnt have enough time for them and they were not getting the love and attention they deserved. Enter, Sadie and Slade; two stunning 6 year old black labs were big and goofy, with typical lab personalities and eager to find their own forever homes. Both Sadie and Slade went to Boston Canine for foster to get some much needed basic obedience skills and burn off some of their energy! After a couple months in foster care at Boston Canine, Slade was adopted and Sadie continued to wait patiently for her very own family. A Sweet Paws volunteer decided to bring Sadie home so she could get used to being in a home environment again. One day last week, Sadie was unable to get up and walk and she was rushed to Dr. Callahan at Ipswich Animal Hospital. It was discovered that Sadie had a completely torn ACL which would require surgery and once that was healed, she would need her knee rebuilt. After some research, it was determined that Sadie had fallen off her previous owners’ deck over a year ago and although she went to the vet, no care was given. Fast forward to today, Sadie is facing two separate surgeries totaling over $7,000 and some extensive rehab to help her leg heal. We are desperate for help. We are not only looking to raise the funds for Sadie’s much needed surgeries but looking for a forever home (or even long term foster home) that will provide her with the care, love and attention she will need over the coming months. Sweet Paws Rescue is willing to pay for the surgeries she needs, but is desperately looking for a quiet place that she can recuperate and heal. Do you have room in your heart and home for Sadie? Do you have a quiet place for her to rest and recover? Sadie is an amazingly sweet and affectionate dog that was dealt a pretty crappy hand the past few years. She is looking for love and a family that is willing to help her through the next 6-9 months of surgery and rehabilitation. Please consider donating to help offset the cost of Sadie’s surgeries and share her story in hopes to find her very own forever home. Please share to the moon and back. sweetpawsrescue.org/sadiesurgery/
