Several people have asked lately so I am posting ... Our adoption fees are based on what we have invested in a dog or group of dogs. They range anywhere from 50.00 to the highest at 450.00 If a person has a disability, and we have a suitable companion, we often waive the fee. There are some dogs that we invest several thousand dollars into just that one, and we must recoup some of the monies spent or we can not rescue other dogs. We depend on adoption fees and donations to not only vet the dogs, but to house them, feed them, pay for electric, heating, toys, flea meds, cleaning supplies, beds, crates, gas for transporting, and more. We try to keep our fees as low as possible, but until we build a bigger donation base, we must collect adoption fees that will cover the costs of running the rescue. Also regarding adoption- We require an application be submitted and approved prior to visiting an animal. All of our dogs are in private homes and we screen not only for the protection or them, but for our volunteers. We require excellent vet references to adopt from us. If a person does not have a vet reference we will work with them by stipulating two conditions. Condition one - The adopter would make a vet appt for within 48 hrs of adoption. If the appt isnt kept, the dog is returned to us. Condition two- The adopter schedules training classes and gives us the info on the where/when. If not kept, the dog is returned to us. Our number one goal is to place dogs in homes that suit them and that will be their furever home. To so do we have to be demanding with some of the requirements. Running a rescue is hard work, rewarding work, and it takes a lot of money.
