Several people have asked me to leave this page up. I will no longer update, though, as theres nothing left to say. I have a few answers to lingering questions... I am female. I just have short hair and a gender-neutral name. Not a critical issue, but clarified for posterity. The WNCN segment was recorded at my house on Friday the 20th, and subsequently aired on Tuesday the 24th. I did ask them about not airing it, but they had the story prepared and I dont control the media. I cant post the vet bill because it has sensitive financial information, similar to any other itemized invoice. I have added a photo of the checkup summary though, and can tell you the procedures listed: general wellness panel, prepaid fecal flotation, micro chipping, nail clipping (discounted or fee waived). Also the ear medication. And I made but didnt pay for an appointment with the groomer. It was never my intention to return martini, only to discuss her health with the CCC and my disappointment in a cat from a veterinary practice being adopted out with health issues. If they would accept their money back in return for Martini, I would gladly give it. I voluntarily dismissed the small claims suit after my psychiatrist advised that the stress would damage my health. Several friends and family members expressed similar concerns. I was also concerned about the emotional stress a trial would put on 3rd parties. I have donated all of my cat items to GentleCare who in turn will take those items to second chance adoptions or another rescue. I dont foresee adopting a cat anytime soon, but you are welcome to post adoption opportunities to this page. At the moment I need to focus on my well being and of course take care of Olive. I was reimbursed for the adoption fee and partially for the vet costs, then received a third check for vet costs. With small claims filing costs and the petco visit for supplies, the CCC and I are about even in money lost. Not that it particularly matters. Ive carefully reviewed this page to remove any mention of personal information and threatening material. I want to thank everyone again who positively supported me in this matter. It is my hope that Martini, aka Bella, finds a good home, even if that home is not with me. For a few days I got to be a cat person, and those memories are cherished.
