Several posts today have tweaked me to do something I used to do on ROOTS - as I doubt Dr. Belliard will replicate anything I used to do - its STATE OF THE ONION TIME... 1. Dentaltown CE in Depth: Endodontics - for all newbees - well underway, have received material from John McSpadden, Lele Emanuele Ambu, Krzysztof Gonczowski among others - expect this will be on the Dentaltown platform by late August, early September - very ambitious effort and the real time hands-on will use facilities and training centres owned or affiliated with NEXONIANS around the world. 2. Endodontics in Istanbul and Implants in Istanbul - also - underway - Fadi Khuffash Mohd HammoKhaled BaltoAlexandre Khairallah Zvi MetzgerHani Ounsi - we simply have to determine a date and the # of days needed - Solange Sfeir Aswad is the driver behind this......the boys are a tad slow in getting back to me, but worst case scenario - MOM will take them to the woodshed and get things underway. Once this is finalized, the IMPLANTS IN ISTANBUL will begin in earnest. 3. Howard Goldstein has reached out to many of you to get involved in webinars on the Dentaltown platform - Im stunned by the calibre of some of our NEXONIANS and feel that its my responsibility to make someone aware of the opportunity for you to be showcased in N. America because as demonstrated repeatedly, its not on parade over home.....Howard is CE director and Id prefer the monies not be discussed on the forum as thats a private matter...in future, he will obtain emails and set things up offline. 4. Lorie Xelowski who is CEO of Farran Media is meeting with Reena Gajjar of mydentalhub - many of you may know Ken Hebel - this is his wife and her company in Arizona...I worked with her for a time and the animations they produce are brilliant - the plan is to find a way to fund production of relevant materials and share them on NEXUS...... 5. For those of you who know Kim Bleiweiss - he has a rather startling software product that just launched.....in this economy - if you watch the pennies, the dollars look after themselves.......check out leandental solutions - important for any practice. 6. John Ingle was invited to come on NEXUS - I hope he does, Im a history buff and would love to hear stories about the early days of Endodontics. 7. David David E. Jaramillo posted - he must be less pressured - A while back I tried to connect with him, Marco Versiani and Ronald Ordinola Zapata - 3D printing is the present and future. Dr. Buchanan has begun the process of 3D printed teeth for training purposes with DEL; but there are niche areas not addressed - traumatized teeth, stereolithic models for endo surgery training et al.........finding a place to manufacture the items is not an issue.....they are all over the map - finding the raw data to use for the printer is another issue. I saw preliminary work done by David and Ronald, and hoped that Nestor Cohenca could get onboard and develop 3D models for learning to deal with trauma and REP......and - who knows what the future of this technology holds for dentistry - it will most likely be able to use stem cells to print teeth before the end of this decade.... 8.I earlier referenced an open call to file manufacturers to do what we did for Dr. Metzger and SAF....early on I had asked Martin Trope to come onboard and discuss FKGs products, but neither he nor Alexandre Mulhauser has gotten back to me which is unfortunate as I believe they also have a file similar to Trushape coming to market......like bioceramics, Im guessing that the SAF concept will gain broad acceptance in time.....anything that innovative impacts on STATUS QUO and is first derided and dismissed before it proves itself and is embraced by the very same people that decried its value. 9. Lastly - Scott Ganz and others - Im adamant about the need to discuss the implications of computer guided surgery for endodontics on this forum.....and who better to go to than one of the founding fathers of the technology. I cant come up with a 10th, so enough from me.......in the immortal words of Ron Burgundy AKA Will Farrell - STAY CLASSY NEXONIANS!
